Character Name: Koizumi Akako
Canon: Magic Kaito, brief cameos in Detective Conan anime.
AU/OC/Previous Game: N/A
Age: 17
Appearance: Akako is canonly considered to be very beautiful. She has long, dark red hair and dark red eyes. Her skin is on the paler side and she has a very petite figure. She’s of average height. She usually prefers clothes that show off her figure more and has no shame in wearing something extremely revealing.
Cause of Death: When Kaito died, Akako decided to ignore all the warnings of how much of a bad idea magic dealing with beating death is and tried to revive him. Unfortunately, either because he was revived elsewhere or something else, the ceremony was botched and that’s not the sort of magic you want to botch. The rebound killed her.
Impact of Death: So very pissed and in denial, sort of. She miiiight accept she died, but she won’t accept she’s stuck in some other world. She will be vehement about trying to find a way home and to drag Kaito home with her because that was the whole POINT of the ceremony. She will also not be happy thinking gods grabbed her soul because she has a deal with demons. She doesn’t like the idea of gods holding her soul after all of that, which will just make her more stubborn about her fate of being stuck in Thusia.

Character Info:
In a world where technology and logic rule, Akako is the oddity. Because she is, in fact, a witch. A witch of black magic and the heir of the Scarlet Arts, she has the apparent destiny of making all men in the world her slave.
Save one exception; Kuroba Kaito AKA Kaitou Kid.
Akako grew up being told she would one day rule the world. Her magic charmed all the men around her and she grew up arrogant, manipulative, and vain. She would manipulate all the people around her, with a mix of magic and her own personal skill. Whenever she went to school, there’d be an army of boys, willing to do what she says. When she learned of the man whose will she couldn’t control with magic, she vowed to change that. Then she found out that he was actually her classmate by happenstance and some deduction. It was then that Kuroba Kaito found his life become just a bit harder.
She tried several times to get Kaito to submit to her magic, thinking if she used stronger spells that she could do it. Each and everytime it failed, but despite her attempts, Kaito never showed her any real unkindness. Then again, he pretended he wasn’t Kid even if it was pointless, but he had seen something in Akako no one else did. He saw the girl who just wanted to be love, whose power and teachings had corrupted. This continued and it is because of these actions that when Akako thinks to kill him, she’s unable to.
Eventually this trait of Kaito’s would cause Akako to, more or less, fall for him and instead of using brute force of magic, she tried to protect him and find other ways to win Kaito over.
Akako is not a good person, but she’s not an evil person. She was raised as a witch and she was taught that witches would take things by force with their magic. Whether it be with painful coercion or emotional manipulation. Akako was taught that it was her right to rule because she was either the last, or at least one of the last, witches in the world. Akako believes that she can do whatever she pleases, so long as she gets what she wants. Harm to others be damned.
This is not helped in the fact Akako refuses to let herself become attached to someone without a lot of metaphorical kicking and screaming. And even then, she tries to justify it to herself as all being a part of her plan.
This is more to protect herself because there is a price for her magic. She must never shed a single tear or she would lose all her magic. Akako doesn’t let people become close because that leaves her vulnerable to crying. She instead thought of herself as superior, more mature, than anyone around her, forever keeping them from getting into her heart. Some would even say she acts like a benevolent queen. As long as she is in control of everything around her, she’s safe. But it also left her lonely.
There is a cruelty in Akako. She is very much the ends justify the means type, even if the means are rather terrible. Like make a fool of herself. She’d often change her demeanor to be something people would be more inclined to bend to, be it the damsel or the controlling woman in charge. She’s even willing to get her hands dirty. But she isn’t cold blooded. She can’t be malicious for malice sake. There needs to be something to makes her mad, but once she is mad, then she can be incredibly vindictive.
However, there are some limits. Due to falling in love with Kaito and making friends with Aoko, some of Akako’s cold hardness has melted. She vehemently denies it to herself, as she’s prone to do so she can maintain her own illusion of being the ruler to be, but the fact is she cares about them. In caring for them, some of her kindness will show. She wants to protect them and encourage them to be better. So instead of the ‘queen’ that she often shows the world, she’ll act more like a big sister to Aoko.
They also sometimes get to see her childish side. Kaito being the one boy to throw her off and Aoko being the type of girl Akako hasn’t interacted much with, both have a tendency to catch Akako off guard. And being off guard means she’ll show off the cute side she has hidden. Not quite something moe, but instead that little girl who isn’t quite sure how to honestly interact with people WITHOUT manipulating them or being in a fight with them. Or also invoke a childish tantrum, which Kaito seems to get a lot when he won’t bend to her will and she’s beyond the violent rage.
Akako also doesn’t fear much. Or freak out much. Tantrums are one thing, but she can take strange or just plain terrible things in stride. She blows off Lucifer, THE KING OF HELL, like it’s no big deal. Or just have a friendly chat. Very few things will ever scare her and she’s trained herself to keep calm enough she won’t even risk crying.
Old Game Info: N/A
Abilities (before Powercap):
Due to a deal with demons, Akako has black magic. There are varying degrees to how the black magic can be used and then there is the Scarlet Arts themselves. The Scarlet Arts is the magic that her family line is talented at. This has to do with magic all about manipulating the emotions of those around them. Basically any spell that has to do with that manipulation is just stronger with her.
Charm: This is a low level magic that’s on innately. Basically if anyone is attracted to the female sex in any sort of romantic sense will feel some sort of ‘love’ for Akako. How strong depends on the person’s will. It’s an area affect spell, so if Akako isn’t around, it loses its affect. This is why Akako puts effort in the manipulation, so people do think the feelings are genuine when she’s not around. It’s not true mind control, its pure emotional manipulation. Weaker the will, the stronger the affect. For weak wills, they’re basically avid fanboys. Stronger wills can act more rational and have a chance to realize there is something ‘wrong’ with the feelings if Akako isn’t careful.
Low level black magic. This is black magic that Akako can just do whenever she wishes. It mostly consists of what amounts to low level fireballs and lightning bolts. Stuff that hurts like a bitch, but nothing really able to kill. It can also do small stuff like minor appearance alterations, cleaning spells, or just make people forget she was ever there if she’s being sneaky.
Mid level black magic. This is stuff that requires some preparation. Usually its potion brewing or magic circle making. Magic circles are for summoning, binding, or enchanting items. The circles can just take something to make them, but brewing usually calls for certain ingredients. She can also enchant pieces of jewelry to hold a high level destructive spell, something on the level of bringing down a helicopter.
High level black magic. This requires a lot of preparation, a lot of chanting, very specific ingredients that are hard to get, and basically is ridiculously hard to do without a large stock room of stuff. These sort of spells are usually for something more permanent, like an enthrallment spell to make someone her mind slave for the rest of their lives.
Scrying and divination. Akako can see the future in magic crystal balls. It’s usually only a snapshot of things, she can’t see the whole event, just the outcome. She can also spy on people with a mirror or a crystal ball. HOWEVER, she requires the real name of someone to be able to do this with them. Such as she couldn’t find out things about Kid BEFORE knowing his name.
Demon summoning. She can get demons to tell her things and do things for her. It’s kind of moot in Thusia since she can’t summon the demons she had a deal with.
Never crying. Due to the fact she can’t cry or lose her magic, Akako has trained herself to not cry no matter what. Torture, pain, nothing physical will ever cause Akako to cry. In fact the only way to even maybe get Akako to cry will be deal a huge, earth shattering blow to her feelings. And even then that’s kind of iffy. It’s also this trait that let’s her act like it’s nothing to wear a really skimpy outfit in the snow without any ill affects or shivering.
Normal abilities. Akako is actually pretty athletic. She isn’t a fighter and she isn’t strong, but she’s got great balance and endurance. She’s a great skier and she can run around in high heels like its nobodies business.
She’s actually really good at handling a scythe.
Due to the fact she can make complex potions, she is able to cook just fine.
Emotional manipulator. Since the charm really is just implanting an emotion in someone, Akako has to make up the rest of it on her own. With that, Akako can actually manipulate people without her magic. Mostly boys, she’s only had practice with the type of girl coming after her for seducing their boyfriend.
Also, it should be said Akako Can Not Use her magic to kill someone. Unless fate says they can die that day, her magic will always falter in doing that last bit to kill someone.
Her magic, for some unknown reason, cannot be used to emotionally or mentally manipulate Kuroba Kaito.
Abilities (after Powercap):
Charm: It’s more hit and miss in Thusia. It may work as it always has or maybe it won’t work at all (depending on permissions). Strong wills can more readily resist it than before. (Permission will be needed for all mind altering spells.)
Again, demon summoning is just moot in Thusia.
All non-magical abilities are unaffected because they don’t really affect her ability to kill things on their own.
Scrying and divination still requires a medium in which to be used. She’d need a crystal ball or mirror enchanted by a god with some domain connected to fate or seeing far away things. Also that name thing. It can also be hit or miss due to Plot if she ever manages to get such an item.
When it comes to her magic, it’ll basically be spell slots and spell costs. She can do six level one magic, three level two magic, and one level three spell before she’s completely exhausted. She also still needs those specific items for the second level and third level spells, so they’re severely limited in when they can be used as well.
Her magic can’t ever be used to just kill things. It will magically just…never be able to jump that last final gap between severe pain to death so the killing blow will need to come in some other way.
Items Brought In: A ceremonial staff with a cobra’s head on top.
A baseball cap that kind of smells like questionable potion.
