GENDER: Female
APPEARANCE: Akako is a notably beautiful girl. Many among both boys and girls will say so, remarking how she seems so mature, and like a queen. With long dark hair with a red hue and dark crimson eyes, it's coloring that suits her name meaning red child. She holds herself with confidence and control and it's rare that anyone else sees her in any other way. She has a petite hourglass figure with pale skin, with no notable blemishes. She prefers to dress in a more mature style, with a preference for red, though she has no problem with wearing uniforms or ceremonial clothing, and may wear accessories that double as a magic charm, usually with a snake motif.
PERSONALITY & HOUSE REQUESTS: Akako is far from a good person, and yet she is not a completely evil person. There are a lot of factors in Akako's history that affects the type of person she is. There are several layers to her personality, due to the contract for her magic, growing up with the magic, and her interactions with people. Not to mention a rather unhealthy sense of denial.
Akako is all about control. Magic requires a price to be paid in her world, that price being the witch must never shed a single tear or they would lose all their power. As such, Akako will not permit herself to cry and to make sure she never comes close, she is very controlling of her own feelings. She is not one to be easily embarrassed, usually requiring something to just throw her off completely, and can go from untouchable queen to clingy, ditzy incurable flirt within seconds should she so desire. As long as she has some expectation of how the interaction will go, for the most part she can keep in total control with her own actions and emotions.
However, Akako is not always the best at judging people. If they fit with her prediction, she can be very good at manipulating them, but if they throw her off, it can be quite hard for her to figure out how she needs to act. This is for several reasons, but one of the main ones is the fact she didn't usually talk to anyone who wasn't under her magic. Akako has a natural talent for a charm spell that can manipulate men to fall in love with her and become her slaves. It is usually these people she interacts with, and due to their mental state, they do not usually do anything that's hard for her to predict. She just doesn't pay much attention to girls at all. Not that that is Akako's only problem.
Ever since Akako was a child, she was told how great she would be. Being the last heir of scarlet magic, very possibly one of the last witches in her world period, she has been told by her mother and servant that she was destined to rule. Not just a kingdom, but to use her magic to rule the world. As Akako grew older, she found this constant reminder annoying, but she also took it to heart in a way. Mainly in her goal to make all men her slaves and not viewing this as something she could do, but something she will do. It's just a matter of time. With this, though, it's only natural Akako has developed a rather severe superiority complex. She feels she is better than everyone else. She has magic, and because of that, she has the right to make people bow to her whims, by force if necessary. In fact, force seems to be something she sees as encouraged in magic. To the point she attempted to kill Kaitou Kid for defying her. Even if she couldn't make the final blow, she had gotten very close to that, and that was against someone she was actually starting to really care for. Though there is some real confidence here. It would take someone to have true confidence to be able to blow off Lucifer himself after asking him a question for their own selfish whims. She is not someone that is easy to intimidate.
Even with the superiority complex, however, Akako has an inferiority complex as well. This really just fuels the superiority complex to deny she does have an inferiority complex. Akako is in a world that is, for the most part, based on logic and science. Magic does not have a lot of room in the modern era and there are many people who don't believe in it anymore. To have the world at large deny something that is such an essential part of her, that she locked up so many of her emotions for, it hurts her. It's a point that even makes her bitter against magicians, who use trickery and not real magic, feeling like it's mocking her abilities that she believes are superior. If people were to know about her magic, she would do everything to prove that her magic could do anything she wants, because it's real and magic is supposed to do anything.
Though she recognizes this as a rather childish trait and ends up acting more like an adult to compensate for that. Though she is very childish regardless. She pursues Kaitou Kid relentlessly for the simple fact he was the one thing she couldn't have at first. This would change with time, but Akako hates to be denied things. Since her magic had for the most part given her everything she has ever wanted, it drives her mad when it can't give her something. She will even throw a tantrum if pushed far enough. She will also deny things that she and others know to be true just for the sake of pride. Like saying she would never let anyone arrest Kaitou Kid until she made him her slave when it's becoming rather obvious she just wants to protect Kaito.
It is all these guards that she uses that keeps Akako from truly understanding other people. All of these combine with her refusing to let people get close to her. Unfortunately, she also craves attention. With her mother gone and only really having one servant and demons for company, she uses her charming ability freely. Since she feels magic gives her the right to do as she wishes, she feels no remorse in manipulating the feelings of the boys around her. Though, oddly, she isn't too abusive of this power. To the drones she charms, unless she needs one for a specific purpose or they have her attention, she will humor them all. Like a queen showing favor for her subjects, almost. She even gave every single boy in the school a box of chocolates on Valentines Day. Though she did require that they only look at her and not accept chocolates from any other girls. She's not incredibly abusive, but she isn't benevolent either. However, she continues to maintain this distance, not letting any of them get close.
If people got close, they would see her vulnerabilities and if they saw her vulnerabilities, they could use them. Then they might be able to make her feel things beyond her control. Then she might cry and lose her magic and the thing that made her special, the thing that had been the crutch for her to have any connections at all would be gone and she honestly doesn't want to know what that would do to her. Losing her magic is her worst fear and as such, she is very careful to control herself and control those around her to make sure she never loses control.
Then Kuroba Kaito came along and completely and utterly bypassed almost all of her barriers and got into her heart. This would also inadvertently drag Aoko along later. Simply put, Kaito, AKA Kaitou Kid, was the ONLY boy in the whole world who she couldn't use her charm magic on. In fact, a great deal of her spells simply don't work on him, though a few of the more powerful ones can. Akako was not happy with this and started to pursue Kaito relentlessly. At first just trying to use stronger spells to own him, and then even trying to kill him except Kaito did something; he actually looked at HER. Despite her masks and guards, he actually saw through that and saw that there was something good in Akako.
For a girl who forever kept everyone away, locked away her emotions, always told she had to be someone who would rule the world, to have someone see her not for her magic, not for her beauty, but for that glimmer of a pure heart belonging to a rather lonely little girl. From then on, Akako was doomed, even if she didn't want to admit it.
Kaito threw her off and Akako had to deal with that. Eventually she would decide that instead of using magic, she would try to earn Kaito's love the real way. She will often go out of her way to protect him and warn him of danger, even risking her own exposure to normal people when he would be caught. Even if she says it's because she won't let anyone capture him before she makes him her slave, there is honest kindness in Akako when it concerns Kaito. This is made even more apparent in her friendship with Aoko. Aoko being the first girl she really interacted with, at first in jealousy due to her relationship with Kaito, Aoko threw her off with her honesty and cheerful attitude. At first Akako told herself that this cheerful attitude annoyed her, but she found herself becoming fond enough of Aoko to even try and give her tips on being more ladylike and protecting her.
It would seem to prove she must really care for Kaito. After all, Aoko is the obvious rival for Kaito's love and the fact she cares about the girl too proves she has a real heart under all those guards. The real heart of Akako is someone who is fiercely loyal and will do anything and everything to protect what's important to her. Even risking getting herself arrested, outing herself as a witch, it was something worth the risk so long as she could protect what she finds valuable. She also does hold some value in human life. Not that she would admit it and she can more often than not repress any care she has for it, but there is something there buried under all the walls.
I believe Akako would be well suited for Slytherin. No doubt enslaving about half the world's population to your whims could be called ambitious. She is also very attentative to her study of magic, always seeking to improve and become stronger and she will always relentlessly pursue her goals with very little she isn't willing to do more often than not. To ever catch Kaitou Kid off guard, even with real magic, would take a great deal of cleverness. The fact she can get the components for her spell speaks well for her resourcefulness. She also displays the more frowned upon traits often associated with Slytherin, usually choosing her own desires and own self preservation over others and often being very underhanded in doing as she likes. Funnily enough, snakes are often a part of magical tools and one of her ceremonial outfits.
A good back up would be Ravenclaw. As mentioned before, one would have to be quite cunning and clever to keep up with Kaitou Kid. She also shows signs of being rather studious. While her normal studies are unknown, Akako has displayed knowledge of a great many charms and little spells that have nothing to do with Black Magic. She has a very wide knowledge on the magical aspect of her world, able to locate things like mermaid tears and kappa eyes in a world that has mostly forgotten they exist.
COMMUTER DETAILS: She would not be morally opposed to the option of helping Voldemort. Whether she will or not would depend a whole lot on how things go in game due to her personality.
POSITION: Student
ABILITIES & POWERS: Akako is a witch already! But a different kind. First off, her magic comes with a price, such as she's not allowed to cry. Ever. If she shreds a single tear, she'll lose all her power. And she consorts with demons on a regular basis. Her magic has been classified as black magic, with it being 'scarlet' for her family. She can cast spells and the like without a wand, but most of the bigger stuff does require a medium of some sort, be it mirrors, potions, pieces of jewelry, etc.
How this transfers really is just more on how she activates the power instead of the power itself and the power level being limited of her more advanced spells. She'll have a natural talent for wandless magic for simpler spells since she's already been doing that. She'll be exceptionally good at dark magic, hexes, and curses, since it has been the primary magic she's been using since she was a little girl. She'll also have a natural affinity for any sort of spell that influences people. Akako is canonly capable of charming at least a school full of boys to be her lapdogs, save one special exception, without any real effort on her part. It's been implied she could do this with long term affects on the entire male population should she choose to. She has also been shown to use magic for outright mind control, which could have even affected her special exception, as long as she has tools to focus her magic. Since potions are a major part of her tools, she'll be good at that.
She has a sort of talent for seeing and scrying, but a medium is required for this. Sometimes she has to ask demons, but she has been seen using a crystal ball and a magic mirror. However, there are limitations. It has to involve herself, be it a person involved with her, or her own future. Like she can tell if she's the 'fairest of them all' and she could tell who could resist her. However, she couldn't tell who Kaitou Kid's secret identity was with her magic and had to find out on her own. The same thing applies to futures, she needs an actual connection with the person before she starts telling futures.
She's a weak flyer. She can get off the ground, but anything beyond that is a bit...eh. She won't go careening into a tree suddenly, but she's certainly not doing any loop de loops.
She will be bad at defensive magic, and removing curses, and HORRIBLE with healing magic. She makes curses and being amongst the last capable of black magic in her world, she doesn't have much opportunity to practice getting rid of the spells or needing to deflect magic and black magic just isn't made for healing.
She'd also be rather horrible with any magical beasts that required her to do anything besides being dominating towards them. She'll be excellent with any who DO respond well to that though.
WAND:
Wood: Yew: She is fearsome with curses, and is far from a timid or mediocre practitioner of magic. While she is very likely to be drawn to the dark arts, without a doubt she will fiercely protect whoever she decides to protect.
Core: Dragon Heartstring: Even if Akako has to hide her magic, when she goes out, she goes all out. She will make several spells, with various preparations required, and will even make a show of it. Pretty flamboyant, and she's strongly bonded to her magic. Not to mention the emotional manipulation spells could be considered flamboyant.
Flexibility: Unyielding: Without a doubt, if Akako does not want to be moved, come hell and high water, she isn't going to yield easily.
Length: 12 inches: Akako is someone who commands attention rather easily and does so adore that attention.
Strength: Dark Arts: Because she's a witch of black magic and the wand and core combination is pretty adept at black magic.
MISC.: Her magic just won't work well against Kuroba Kaito for unexplained reasons. (Since canon does not give them.)
FIRST PERSON:
A school of witchcraft and wizardry is it? [There is a light laughter, amusement dancing in the girl's eyes.] How interesting!
I do wonder how far this spell is drawing these righteous heroes. It certainly can't be all the same world. Though that may only be obvious to a few. I wonder how many would even believe these letters. I certainly can't speak of some places, but I know if there were more from my home, there would be a risk of skeptics.
Magic certainly isn't an accepted fact amongst the masses.
[But then the amusement fades and she sighs, looking bothered, yet somehow avoiding to appear as if she's pouting.] Though the requirement of school seems a bit much. I could see that with these apparent 'muggles' who are being gifted with magic, but I hardly need it. I know the normal education system can seem redundant for the smarter students, but I have already been learning magic long before seven years ago. That seems a bit much. [Sigh.]
[Then there is a long, thoughtful pause.] Though.
I suppose tutoring could be fun, regardless of any possible redundancy for my own studies.
Perhaps some of those newly gifted would like help from a real witch?
THIRD PERSON:
After a few days, Akako decided she wasn't as annoyed with the schooling as she had been at first mention. When it came to the curses and hexes, just reading them in the book was enough and she could cast them. It was a bit trickier with charms, so she supposed the classes were good for practice, even if she didn't need THAT much.
Transfiguration, however, was quite fascinating. There was admittedly a lower supply of shape changing spells in her word, usually just to curse someone into an animal. She was almost eager in that class. As eager as she'd let herself appear, at least. So she supposed her days weren't totally wasted.
The idea of tutoring was also a fun one. The change in her magic (which had outraged her at first, really making her magic dependent on a piece of WOOD of all things...) had made her charms null. She still had her beauty, of course, which went a long way, but she was almost missing the flock of boys, and it made her just a bit antsy. Just a bit, not like she has any reason to be nervous. She was the heir of the scarlet magic, the Red Witch, destined to make every man her slave! She was not going to be intimidated by anyone, even if they did have magic. However, the tutoring would be a great way to make a number of people indebted to her and once people were in your debt, then it was easy to twist them to your will.
So in these aspects, she could find the schooling tolerable.
Defense Against the Dark Arts, however....
Akako gritted her teeth. "Protego!" She hissed, flicking her wand and somehow, someway, the magic DID NOT DO what she wanted it to do. Instead of making the solid magical barrier, it was barely a wispy veil. "Argh! Do what I say!" Akako snapped at her wand, glaring at the wood, so very tempted to just set it on fire.
Oh, when they were learning the more offensive side of defense, she was good. Brilliant, if she did say so herself. When it came to the more defensive spells, however, it was like her magic was deliberately trying to embarrass her.
Perhaps it was mad like her. All bottled up, dependent on a twig to be released. Then to have a class where she was disarmed repeatedly, left without full access to her magic...!
"Agh!" Akako shouted in frustration, throwing her wand, just managing to aim for the pile of pillows she'd been using for practice in the empty classroom so as to not break her wand. She hadn't been this frustrated with magic in YEARS. She felt this amount of frustration, sure, Kuroba guaranteed that, but not with magic. As soon as she had the basics of it, it got easier and easier and it came as easily to her as breathing did by now back home.
Yet now it was restrained and spells didn't do what she wanted them to do. She ground her teeth together, crossing her arms, and glaring across the room at the wand on the pillow.
For a moment, her mind shifted, back to the lesson today when a girl had been hit with a stinging charm. She had burst into tears at the time. Then she was back to practice five minutes later, sniffling until the end of the session.
Akako felt anger and bitterness flare up inside her. "No. I am Koizumi Akako. I am a mistress of magic, I will not be beaten just because a few rules changed!"
She crossed the room, retrieving her wand and began practice again. So what if she needed a few lessons to get the hang of this world's magic. Fine! She would learn them and master them and show them that the Red Witch would be second to no one!
